Zella May Keenan, 67, of Linda Way, LaVale died Friday, June 1, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on April 15, 1945 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late Ocie Kitzmiller and May Alice (Warnick) Kitzmiller.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Ellsworth "Bud" Kitzmiller, Harry Kitzmiller, Calvin Kitzmiller and James Kitzmiller.
Zella was Methodist by faith and a 1963 graduate of Valley High School. She had worked as the office manager for Renaissance Estate Building, Reston, VA. She was designated as a Certified Professional Secretary, one of few to pass certification on the first attempt. She was Past Secretary for School House Quilters, Past President of Farrady American Legion Post #24 Ladies Auxiliary and Past Officer of Henry Hart V.F.W. Post # 1411 Ladies Auxiliary. Zella was an avid and talented quilter, knitter, cross stitcher and sewer. She was a 20 year Navy wife.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William F. Keenan; one daughter, Deborah Keenan of Centerville, VA and several nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. (www.eichhornmckenzie.com), Midland on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 7 - 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
