William Alexander Lashbaugh, 65, of Jackson Run Road, Lonaconing died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on December 8, 1947 in Frostburg he was the son of the late John William Lashbaugh, Jr. and Eileen Mary (Scott) Lashbaugh.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Vietnam War and member of the Barton American Legion Post #189. He was also a member of the Lonaconing Republican Club, formerly a member of the Alvin C. Neat Post #5280 V.F.W., Lonaconing and the Frostburg Moose. He graduated from Valley High School in 1965 and worked at Frostburg State University as a stationary engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Cindy" (Kasecamp) Lashbaugh; two children, Mark Bittner and family and Megan Lashbaugh and John Fetters and family all of Lonaconing; one sister, Sherry Hadley and husband Marshall of Lonaconing; one brother, Harold Lashbaugh and wife Carol of Frostburg and two nephews, David and Todd Hadley of Lonaconing.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 4-6 PM. Barton American Legion Post #189 will hold a memorial service at 5:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Inurnment will take place at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
