Wilbur Ludwig Fischer, 79, of Madisonville, TX, died July 4, 2012 at his residence. Born in St. Louis, MO on July 7, 1932 he was the son of the late, Ludwig A. Fischer and Jennice (Montgomery) Fischer.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Fischer.
Wilbur was U.S. Veteran severing his country as a U.S. Marine for eight years. He graduated in St. Louis, MO and attended McPherson College in Kansas. He was a retired minister and a member of the Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Ann (Stafford) Fischer; three daughters, Pamela of Magnolia, TX, Elizabeth of Wolcottville, IN and Carla Lucas of Beckley, WV; one son, Terrence Michael, of Beckley, WV; one sister, Nancy Huffman of Magnolia, TX and niece and nephews, Lisa of Magnolia, TX, Terry of St. Louis, MO and Kurt of St. Louis, MO.
A graveside service will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. William Shimer, officiating . Military Rites will be accorded by Farrady Post #24 American Legion, Frostburg, MD. Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing (www.eichhornmckenzie.com) handled the arrangements.
