Wanda Shockey

Wanda June Shockey, 96, of Lonaconing, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at home surrounded by family. Born June 23, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Howard T. and Rhea Mae (DeVault) Wilson.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Shockey, who died in 1959, two brothers; Harold Wilson and wife Betty and John Wilson and wife Lois, three sisters; Alma Wilson, Mary Rae and Dorothy Beeman and husband Melvin, one daughter-in-law; Jeanie Shockey and one granddaughter-in-law; Tammie Shockey.

Wanda was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing.  She had worked at the Lonaconing Bakery and Marshall’s Restaurant.  She loved reading, taking walks, cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one daughter; Cindy Smith and husband Billy, four sons; Denny Shockey, Tom Shockey, Wayne Shockey and wife Marian and Steve Shockey and wife Vickie, eight grandchildren; Denise Thompson and husband Todd, Tammy Phillips, Holly Shockey, Jeff Shockey and wife Angie, Wayne Shockey and wife Maura, Tommy Shockey and wife Carla, Chris Shockey and wife Stacey and Aaron Shockey, sixteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and six nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM . A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Heerak Kim officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
