Virginia Waneda Lee Smith passed away at peace on November 12, 2017. She was the daughter of the late James H. Lee and Ethel Isabel Myers Lee and the wife of the late Edgar M. Smith, Jr. for 61 years.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, James L. Lee, Donald E. Lee and Robert E. Lee, her sister, Lucy Venable and husband Frank, brother-in-law Luther Smith and his first wife Mildred and sister-in-law Ada Vernetta Kifer.
She is survived by two sons, Edgar James Smith and Kenneth A. Smith and wife Diane. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Brenda Ann Smith Puderbaugh and husband Richard and Rebecca Ann Smith Jennings and husband Brian and one grandson, Eric J. Smith and wife Misty; five great-grandsons, Rylan Puderbaugh , Everett Jennings, Miles Jennings, Ethan Smith and Andrew Smith; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Puderbaugh; one step great-grandaughter, Karaline Crabtree; five brothers-in-law, Robert Smith and wife Margaret, Kenneth Smith and wife Faye, Lloyd Wayne Smith and Luther Smith ; one sister, Ruth Lee Dye and husband Donald; four sisters-in-law, Marguerite Lee, Carol Lee, Leona Clark and Marguerite Smith and several nieces and nephews.
She was protestant by faith and attended Central High School. She was a member of the “Heart Warmers Crochet Group” at the First Assembly of God Church in Lonaconing and she loved all of the members dearly. She made numerous shawls and lap robes for the sick people of her community.
At her request a private family graveside service was held at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills, MD , Rev. Robert Fletcher officiated. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing handled the arrangements.
