Susan Wiland

Susan Jane Wiland, 79, of Frostburg, died Friday, March 3, 2023 at Cumberland Healthcare Center. Born on November 21, 1943 in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late William Skidmore and Mary Jane (Taylor) Skidmore.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Wendell Wiland in 2018, a brother, William Skidmore and a two sons-in-law, Kenneth DuVall and Alan Hix.

She was a member of God’s Grace Independent Church, Grantsville. Susan was a homemaker and she loved to craft, making baskets, flower arrangements and even pocketbooks for the granddaughters.

She is survived by five children Macie Cooper and husband Mark of Chase, Tammy Duvall of Frostburg, Tina Makela and husband Glenn of Conowingo, Dawn Kojack and husband Steve of Perryville, and Joseph Wiland and Tammy Ayers of Cumberland; eight grandchildren Corey Cooper, Jennifer Bigamon, Stephanie Elliott, David Neff, Steve Kojack, Saragrace Sivic, Kyle Kojack and Daphne Ayers; seven great-grandchildren Timothy Dolan, Ariana Bigamon, Nevaeh Bigamon, Marlana Guill, Coleman Guill, Lonnie Sivic and Olivia Elliott; a brother, James Skidmore of PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Barry Beal. Interment will be held at the Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, New Germany, MD.
