Sue Ann Nightingale, 59, of Furnace Street, Lonaconing died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on December 28, 1955 in Sewickley, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert “Fish” Muir and Ruth (Cuthbertson) Muir.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Elaine Nightingale.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. She was a 1973 graduate of Valley High School and was most recently employed as a book keeper for Powell’s Grocery. She was a former member of the George’s Creek Ambulance Service for many years.
Sue Ann left an impression on everyone she met; she always told it like it was. She was a great big sister and was always there for her family.
She is survived by her husband Woody Nightingale, Jr. and beloved pet Gizmo.

She is also survived by her sister, Penny Alkire and husband Steve of Lonaconing; two sisters-in-law, Leslie Nightingale of Lonaconing and Paula Nightingale and husband Todd Bennett of Annapolis; nephews and nieces, Bobby and Becca Alkire and Dylan, Harrison, Mac and Katie Bennett and father-in-law, Woody Nightingale, Sr. of Lonaconing.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral services will the held at the funeral home on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:00PM with James Kaseykamp, Chaplin officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at 1:00PM. Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
The family would like to thank all of the friends, family and the Cumberland Fire Department for their support. A special thank you also goes to the staff of the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center and WMHS Wound Care Center.
