Shirley Spiker

Shirley Marie Spiker, 73, of Railroad Street, Midland, died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born in Lonaconing on December 31, 1936 she was the daughter of the late William Harrison Spiker and Ruth Eleanor (Gallagher) Spiker.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Lee Shurg.

She was of the Methodist faith. A graduate of the class of 1954 from Valley High School and a former employee of Scotty's Restaurant, Midland. She loved to play bingo and was a member of the Sherwood Lanes Bowling League, Frostburg. She retired from the dietary department of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Lee Crawford of National; her brother, Thomas David Spiker of Moran Manor and several nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhornmckenzie.com ), Midland on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Harry Burchell officiating. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
