Shirley Jean Patton, 86 of Lonaconing, died Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center with her daughter at her side. Born on August 31, 1934 in Frostburg she was the daughter of the late William James Lucas Sr. and Emma Catherine (Evans) Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, Thomas William Patton and her siblings, Lt. William James Lucas Jr. and Ada Kimble and husband Golden. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. A 1952 graduate of Central High School, she retired from Ali Ghan Shrine Club after 17 years as a waitress. She was a member of Morning Star Temple #1 Pythian Sisters, Dan’s Mt. Vol. Team and the Lonaconing Senior Citizens Organization.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine Ann Jenkins and partner Joe Mullenax; grandson, “Billy” Warnick Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Lazarus, Liam and Lyssa; two nieces and two nephews and close family friend, who was like a daughter to her Janice McClintock.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 5-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A Pythian service will be held at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing with Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tom Patton, James Ternent, Alex Ternent, Larry Vanmeter, Bob McElvie, Jack Gowans, Ben Lauder and Bill Kimble.
