Ruth Hutcheson Likens, 86, formerly of Douglas Avenue, Lonaconing died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on January 7, 1928 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late James Hutcheson and Mary (Gould) Hutcheson.
She was preceded in death by a baby girl, Margaret Lynn "Peggy", her sister, Esther DeShong and two brothers, Paul and Charles Hutcheson.
Ruth was a homemaker and member of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, Lonaconing.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Broadwater and husband Hubert of Barton, Ruth Ann "Ruthie" Robinette and husband Bill of Lonaconing and Mike Likens and wife Luann of Frostburg; six grandchildren, Casey, Melissa, Natasha, Michael, Megan and Katie; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Hutcheson of Klondike, Kenneth Hutcheson of Michigan and Bob Hutcheson of Lonaconing; numerous nieces and nephews and her close friend and roommate at WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab, Donna Moore.
At her request she was cremated.
Family and friends will be received at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, Lonaconing on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held at the church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mary Bourdeau officiating . Inurnment will be held at Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
