Roy Thomas Wright Sr

Roy Thomas Wright, Sr., 73, of Jackson Street, Lonaconing, died Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Peace Health Care Mt. City, Frostburg. Born on August 7, 1950 in St. Paul, VA to the late Roy Wright and Juanita Wright.

He was preceded in death by four children, Angel, Jamie, Roy, Jr and Wayne and his beloved wife of 41 years, whom he loved dearly, Patricia Wright on May 27, 2022.

Roy was protestant by faith. He was a very hardworking man, last employed by Connington Lumber, Frostburg. He enjoyed woodworking and building things, a very resourceful man. He could also draw pretty much anything he set his eyes on. German Shepherd canines were close to his heart, often walking multiple at once, you could say he was a collector at one time. His grandchildren melted his heart and he loved being a “Pap.” Known as “Pop” by his children he will be dearly missed. 

Roy leaves behind seven children, Michelle Lingelbach, Patty Lease, Vicki Hatfield, Sherry Hatfield, Tammy Keller, Vince Wright, Butch Wright and wife Angela and Michael Wilson beloved “son” and faithful caregiver; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Roy was one of ten children. 

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10 AM-12 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with his son, Butch officiating. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
