Roger Wilhelm Sr.

Roger Francis Wilhelm Sr., 73, died on Sunday June 28, 2020 as the result of a vehicle accident. Born on October 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Scott and Laura (Durst) Wilhelm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Larry Wilhelm, Wendell Scott Wilhelm and Darrell Wilhelm and wife Carolyn, three sisters; Marilyn Muir and husband Robert, Carol Beeman and Beverly Rea Moler and husband Carl, and one granddaughter; Olivia Paxton.

Roger graduated from Valley High School in 1965. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing. He retired from WestVaco after 42 years but being a hard worker, he couldn’t stop there, so he went on to the garden center at Walmart, Keyser.  Roger was extremely generous and would rather give something than receive anything.  He loved talking to people and never met a stranger.  He enjoyed gardening and all of his grandchildren and was loved by all of his family.

Roger is survived by his loving wife Sharon Wilhelm, whom he had been married to for 45 years, three daughters; Annette Barbe and husband Bill, Wendy Wilson and husband Jim and Mary Ann Smith and husband Mike, one son; Roger Wilhelm Jr. and wife Vangie, thirteen grandchildren; Jimmy Wilson and Wife Stephanie, Wayne Wilson and wife Lindsey, Bre Scholten and husband Curtis, Jessie Fout and husband Ben, Cassie Ours and husband Kyle, Bub Barbe, Celina Carter, Patrick Wilhelm, Lauren Daum and husband Chris, Haley Smith, Samantha Smith and fiancé Dean McKenzie, Jayme Smith and Molly Smith, eight great-grandchildren; Maddox, Avery and Peyton Fout, Warren and Lincoln Ours, Ava Daum, Adalynn Wilson and Aubree Barton, two brothers; Steven Wilhelm and wife Patty and Mike Wilhelm and fiancé Karen Getson, one sister-in-law; Gladys Wilhelm, one brother-in-law; Bill Beeman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing on Monday July 6, 2020 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM . A funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 7, 2020 at 1:00PM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.  Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Lavale.
