Roger Lee Pierce

Roger Lee Pierce, 75, of Avilton Lonaconing Road, Lonaconing, died surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on May 4, 1948 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late Clara E. Pierce.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna L. Pierce, a grandson, Jaron McDonald and a sister, Colleen V. Llewellyn.

A graduate of Valley High School, Roger went on to own and operate his own home improvement company, Pierce Home Improvement.

Roger was an avid Nascar and football fan. His hobbies included, throwing horseshoes and hunting mushrooms. Most of all enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Pierce; a son, Roger Shane Pierce and wife Julie; daughter, Holly Lee (Pierce) Hoover and husband Glenn; step-daughters, Stephanie Glotfelty and Sherry Glotfelty Leader; six grandchildren, Michael and wife Keisha, Blake, Sierra and husband Gary, Derrick and wife Paige, Ralin and husband Ben and Haley and husband Rob; six great-grandkids, Ashlynn, Mylee, Michael Jr., Deegan, Paislee and Kynlee; his siblings, Elaine Jacobs and Gary “Paul” Pierce and wife Vicky; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 1-3PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 PM with Rev. Robin Edwards officiating.
