Robert J. Davis, 75, of O'Mara Avenue, Midland died Tuesday, November 4, 2014 surrounded by his family at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on January 12, 1939 he was the son of the late Nelson and Esther (Hendra) Davis of Lonaconing.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Dunn and Marian Mitchell; two brothers, Don Davis and Jerry "Whitey" Davis and a son Bobby Davis.
Robert was a Master Sergeant and a tank mechanic in the U.S. Army. He was Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Soodjai "Sue" Davis; three children, John Davis and wife Megan of Flintstone, MD, Julie Lancaster and Tyler Winkler of Midland, MD and Lori Blevins of Lenoir, NC; three grandchildren, Sierra Rose Lancaster, Kerry Lynn Via Winkler and Natylee Rae Davis; four brothers, Jack Davis and wife Elsa of Hampton, VA, Jim Davis and wife Joyce of Cleveland, OH, Bill Davis and wife Doris of Lonaconing, MD and Dick Davis and wife Shirley of Cecilia, KY; two brothers-in-law, Millard Dunn of Lonaconing, MD and A.J. Mitchell of Jacksonville, NC; one sister-in-law, Susi Davis of Chambersburg, PA; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5-7PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Montague.
