Robert “Bob” Carl Barnard II, 58, of South Main Street, Keyser died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. Born on April 16, 1957 in Frostburg, MD he was the son of the late Robert C. Barnard and Joann (Monahan) Barnard.
He was a graduate of Valley High School class of 1975 and Frostburg State College in 1979. He was center on Valley’s football team in 1974 when they won the state championship, where he made two touchdowns.
Bob had worked as the Business Manager for several car dealerships over the years. He formerly owned and operated the Hooker Hollow Social Club in Keyser. For the last few years, before his health deteriorated, he managed 5 H&R Block tax offices in MD and WV.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Mason) Barnard; son Christopher Barnard and friend Julie Blake; daughter Katie Barnard and husband Matt Buckler; two grandchildren Riley and Noah Barnard, who were the light of his life; four sisters, Debbie Hartman and husband Dave, Gail McCormick and husband Mike, Sue Barnard and Carla Boone; mother-in-law Jean Mason; sisters-in-law Judy Mason, Linda Feaster, Kathy Brafford; brothers-in-law Donald Mason and Jason Mason; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and numerous cousins. Also his loving dogs Coco and Rickey and his cat Baby Girl.
Bob’s passing will leave a huge void in the lives of his family and friends. He was a kind, caring person who loved us all. Till we meet again Bobby we love you.
Family and Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. Lonaconing on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 7-9PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00PM with Rev. Garrett Carskadon officiating. Family and Friends will be received one hour prior to the service from 1-2PM. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills, MD.
