Richard Fair, Sr., 72, of Paradise Street, Midland died on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on April 8, 1942 in Frostburg he was the son of the late Francis I. Fair and Elizabeth (McGann) Fair.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Fair.
Richard served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland. He was also a member of the Midland Sportsman's Club. He worked for Maryland Environmental Services as a water treatment plant operator.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edna Fair; three daughters, Kellie Shaw and Dale Fairgrieve of Midland, Dawn Henry and husband Michael of Frostburg and Shaye Stewart and Tim Thomas of Midland; one son, Richard Fair, Jr. and Vicky Steiner of LaVale; seven grandchildren, Ashley Shaw of Lonaconing, Nathosha Shaw of Midland, Joshua Henry of Barton, Jason McKenzie of Midland, Alley Bittinger of Frostburg, Erica Henry also of Frostburg and Clarissa Stewart of Mt. Savage; four great-grandchildren, Macie, Zoey, Jaxson and Talon; sister, Karen Fair of Midland; brother, Michael Fair and Mary Schriver of LaVale and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 3-5PM and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland with Father Ed Hendricks, celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Midland.
