Rev. Gary William Coleman, 83, of Cresaptown, MD went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. Born October 7, 1937 in Kitzmiller, MD he was the son of the late Alex and Arizona (Males) Coleman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Coleman and three sisters, Priscilla Gracie, Viola Newcomb and Ilda Green.
Gary was a 1955 graduate of Valley High School and went on to Berean Bible Institute where he became an Ordained Minister. He was a member of the General Council of the Assemblies of God and a retired Home Missionary to the American Indians both in the North and Southwestern United States after 12 years. He also pastored in churches in West Virginia, Kentucky and Maryland. He was a member of the Allegheny-Lenape Indian Tribe of Canton, Ohio. Gary was a retired member of the District Council 81 of Colorado Painter’s Union with 40 years of service. He was a highly skilled fisherman and “fisher of men” and enjoyed being outdoors and tending to his flowers and trees,
He is survived by the love of his life for 64 years, Mary JoAnn Coleman; two daughters, Cindy Fuente and husband Elden and Cathy Coleman; five grandchildren, Tressa Clark and husband Jason, Renae Foutz and husband Josh, Demei Oiterong and wife Morgan, Selau Weekes and Alethea Barbosa and husband Jesse; nine great grandchildren, Chase, Colton, Calan, Zachary, Kinson, Lelani, Braxton, Audora and Maeva and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Family and Friends will be received on Monday March 15, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Culler officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Midland, MD.
