The Rev. Charles E. Vinci, 84, of Lonaconing, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2014.
Born July 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Phillip and Ethel Vinci. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Tom, John, Sam, and Danny Vinci, and two sisters, Elsie Humbertson and Louise Colmer.
Retired from Kelly Springfield, he was an active member of the Bethel Holiness Church. Charles did missionary work in Guatemala, and and sang in local churches. He visited nursing homes as will as hospital ministoring. Charles was an avid hunter and a member of the NRA. He was a veteran of the Navy.
Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Whiteman Vinci; a son, James Vinci and his wife Nancy of Lonaconing; one brother, Raymond Vinci and wife, Shirley; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Vinci; a granddaughter, Nikol Stowell, and husband, Eric, of Westernport. Four step-grandchildren, Cherie Blubaugh and husband Clay, Barton, Cinda Nolan and husband Mark, Barton, Danny Clark and wife, Cindy, Barton, Robert Clark and wife, Summer, LaVale. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-greatgrandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. in Lonaconing on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Charles Winebrenner and the Rev. David Schoch officiating. Internment will be held at Green Cemetery, Garrett County, with the Rev. Terry Stanton officiating.
