Ralph Simpson

Ralph M. "Red" Simpson, 85, of Dan’s Rock Road Midland died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born March 16, 1925 in Mount Savage he was the son of the late Harry Simpson and Lavina  Simpson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou Simpson on November 5, 2008 and his brother, Robert C. Simpson.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in WWII and a member of Farrady Post #24 American Legion, Frostburg, MD.

He is survived by four children, Dennis Bartlett and wife Kay of Midland, Gary Simpson and wife Linda of Avilton, William Simpson and wife Liz of LaVale and Debbie Parks and husband Don of LaVale; eight grandchildren, Derick Parks, Jeff Parks, Meghan Palumbo, Casey Simpson, Nathan Simpson, Jason Bartlett, Brandon Simpson and Jennifer Shaw; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhorn-mckenziefh.com ), Midland on Friday, October 29, 2010 from 6-8 PM and Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 11-1 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, Midland on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Harry Burchell officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

Pallbearers will be Derick Parks, Jeff Parks, Nathan Simpson, Gavin Palumbo, Tim McMahon and Brian Moses.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made out to Grace United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 15, Midland, MD 21532.
