Perry “Doc” Wayne Thomas, 65, of Pike Road, Barton died Saturday, December 16, 2023 at home. Born on May 12, 1958 in Frostburg he was the son of the late Charles Eugene Thomas and Anna Lee (Timney) Thomas.
Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Randy, and Scott Thomas, brother-in-law, Dan Sloan and step-son, Matthew Werkeiser.
Perry was Catholic by faith. He was graduate of Valley High School and retired as heavy equipment operator from the I.U.O.E. Local 37. He was also a member of the Barton Rod and Gun Club and the Keyser Moose #662.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Thomas; son, Jeremy Thomas, and fiancé Mollie Brailer; daughter, Shanna McDowell and husband Micah; stepchildren, Michele Stiger and husband Colin, Shaun Werkeiser and wife Melanie, Ethan Werkeiser and stepdaughter-in-law, Melody Werkeiser; grandchildren, Chase, Peyton and Hudson Thomas, Morgan, Mason and Ava McDowell, Alexa Williams, Caleb, Abigail and Kloe Werkeiser, Xander, Aurora and Jake Ward and Zoe Stiger; sister, “Pixie” Sloan and Jeff Porter and nieces and nephews, Dan, Dawn, Natalie, Marcie, Billy, Katie, Mallory, Scott and Emily. He is also survived by a special cousin, Steve Thomas and lifelong friend, Russel Michaels.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Barton Rod and Gun Club, Laurel Run Road, Barton, MD. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing is assisting the family.
