Patricia Fay Morton, 88, of Lower Georges Creek Road, Lonaconing, died Friday, September 2, 2022 at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown. Born on August 13, 1934 in Keyser, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Thrasher and Mary (Kabrick) Thrasher.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, James Thrasher Jr., Bonnie Shearer and Donald Thrasher and her beloved husband, Allen “Sonny” James Morton on March 3, 2013.
Patty was raised in Midland and graduated from Beall High School. She and her late husband, “Sonny” had been married for 56 years at the time of his passing. During their years together they loved to travel, by bus and with their camper. They traveled around the country and spent many winters in Florida. Patty was a homemaker and her family was her whole life. She loved them all dearly, Sunday dinners at her home were a tradition and she found such joy in cooking and tending to her loved ones. She took an interest in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their sporting events and extracurricular activities. Her faith was strong and she was a lifelong member of the Midland Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Rick Morton and wife Kelley of Dayton, OH and Randy Morton and wife Glenda of Midland; four grandchildren, Mandi Morton of Midland, Luke Morton and wife Krissy of Frostburg, Sam Morton and wife Cassie of Dayton, OH and Joe Morton of West Palm Beach, FL; six great-grandchildren, Brody VanMeter, Grant, Lilyana and Garrett Morton and Henry and Finn Morton; a sister, Rosee Blubaugh and husband Blaine and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 4, 2022 from 5-8 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland. A funeral service will be held at Midland Grace United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 5, 2022. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
