Nova Lois Steele, 86, formerly of Lonaconing died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, Burtonsville, MD. Born March 20, 1924 in Knootz, MD she was the daughter of the late Andrew Steele and Elizabeth (Todd) Steele.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters.
She is a graduate of Central High School, Lonaconing class of 1942. She was a homemaker and a farmer. During WWII she made shells at the Kelly, Cumberland. She had also been a dorm mother at Frostburg State University.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at her home on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing. Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. (
