Norman Jacobs

Norman Alvie Jacobs, 84, a resident of Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on March 11, 1933 in Garrett County he was the son of the late William Alvie Jacobs and Bertha (Green) Jacobs.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Elaine (Wiland) Jacobs, his son Brian Keith Jacobs and his siblings Forrest Lee Jacobs and wife Edna, William Julius Jacobs and wife Beulah, Albert Vincent Jacobs and wife Hilda, Virginia Dare Jacobs, Blanche Helen (Jacobs) Wiebrecht and husband Robert and Estella Mae (Jacobs) Hare and husband Edgar. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Norman had worked for the Jones Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Thank you to everyone who took time to visit Norman in the nursing home, you are much appreciated; and a special thank you to the various facilities and staff that took such great care of Norman throughout the years.

There will be no visitation or services held. Interment will take place at Frostburg Memorial Park. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing handled the arrangements.
