Norma Matthews

Norma Lee Matthews, 89, of Beechwood Street, Lonaconing died Friday, April 17, 2020 at her home with her son at her side. Born on January 31, 1931 in Lonaconing she was the daughter of the late Ezra H. Kitzmiller and Daisy M. (Luzier) Kitzmiller.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Hugh J. Matthews on September 23, 2015 and one son Kevin Hugh Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Norma attended beauty school after graduation and for 40 years she ran her own shop, Norma’s Beauty Shop.

She is survived by her son Randall Lee Matthews whom resides at home and a granddaughter Ashley M. Matthews of Texas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

At her request she will be cremated and no services will be held. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. assisted the family.

Randall would like to give a special thank you to Peg, Dennis, Susie, Alexa, Lynette, Carolyn, Amber and Brandi for their care and concern over the years. For the past six years numerous nurses have given excellent care to Norma and they are greatly appreciated.
