Nettie Marjorie Broadwater, 91, of Pine Swamp Road, Barton passed away March 26, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on November 30, 1921 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late Albert Phillips and Hazel (Flannigan) Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Wilson Broadwater on December 24, 1973; a daughter, Shirley Wilhelm and her sisters and brother, Nellie Royce, Mary Bittner, Virginia Davis, Dottie Coffee, Pauline Cline and Jerome Phillips. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was Methodist by faith. A very loving, caring, wonderful mother and person, she will missed by many.
She is survived by her children, Allen Ray (Betty) Broadwater of Grantsville, Darlene (Butch) Rounds of Swanton, Carolyn "Susie" (Roger) Rounds of Swanton and Keith (Chelle) Broadwater of Barton; ten grandchildren, Denise (Terry) Beeman, Ronnie (Belinda) Wilhelm, Glen Dale Wilhelm, David (Erin) Rounds, Tammy (Brian) Opel, Teresa (Jeff) McKenzie, Rodney (Trina) Rounds, Bryan (Tina) Broadwater, Leslie (Scott) Simpson, Kecia (Tony) Maust; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 5-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Rev. George Loar officiating. Interment will be at the Broadwater Cemetery, Pine Swamp Road, Barton.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilhelm, Glen Wilhelm, David Rounds, Rodney Rounds, Bryan Broadwater and Tyler Opel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilhelm, Jr., Travis Beeman, Jeremy Folk, Brandon Folk, and Austin Smith.
