Mary Jane Thrasher, 78, of Midland, went to Heaven on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born March 12, 1932 in Beryl, WV she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kight and Mildred (Grandstaff) Kight.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lorraine "Spain" Thrasher in 1993, one brother Don Kight and two sisters Marguerite Evans and Joann Kight, infant sister.
She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 5280. She was such a loving and caring mother and "Granny" and will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by her three children, Mary Margaret "Mimi" Brant and husband John Leroy of Gilmore, Pam McKenzie and husband Leonard of Frostburg and Wayne Thrasher and wife Susan of Mooresville, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Kecia Coleman and husband Jeff, Shelle Custer and husband Luke, Tiffani Wilt and friend Kenny Platter, Travis Wilt and wife Melissa, Dylan McKenzie, Ashlee Thrasher, Kelsey Thrasher and Tyler Thrasher; nine great-grandchildren, Brant Coleman, Shawnee Coleman, Arin Custer, John Custer, Lynzee Gutillo, Kody Wilt, Colten Wilt, Ethan Wilt and Peyton Wilt and two siblings, William Kight and Helen Braithwaite.

), Midland on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Harry Burchell officiating. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
A special thank you to Egle Nursing and Rehab Center and Dr. Sidhu for providing wonderful care to our "Granny" during her illness.
Pallbearers will be Brant Coleman, Dylan McKenzie, Tyler Thrasher, Travis Wilt, Jeff Coleman and Luke Custer.
