Mary Alice Miller Baylor

Mary Alice Miller Baylor, 82, of Lonaconing, MD and McLean, VA died July 22, 2017 at her McLean home. Born on May 9, 1935 in Frostburg, MD she was the daughter of the late Bernard S. Miller and Winifred (Stakem) Miller.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kent Baylor and her two siblings, Esther “Boots” Miller and B. Paul Miller.

Mary Alice was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Westernport, MD and St. Luke’s Catholic Church, McLean, VA. She retired from the government after 30 years of service. She was well known for her love of cats.

Mary Alice was very courageous and determined to fight her cancer; she struggled very hard and fought till the end. She fought the good fight.

She is survived by two nieces, Linda K. Miller of Rockingham, VA and Lisa Miller of Milton, GA; great-nephew, Colt Miller; special cousins, Patti Cuthbertson and husband Ed, Kristi (Cuthbertson) Plummer and husband Paul Jr. and Kailee Wilson and several other cousins. She is also survived by special friends, Joanmarie, Ann, Miriam, Paula, Annie and Marge.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 7-9PM at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:00PM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.

At the request of the family donations may be made in memory of Mary Alice to Best Friends Animal Society at 5001 Angel Canyon Rd, Kanab, Utah 84741.

Pallbearers will be Ed Cuthbertson, Paul Plummer Jr., James “Deacon” Dick, Sam Hartman, Bobby Lee, Jim Stakem and Mike Kelly.
