Mary Steele

Mary Lucille Steele, 79, of Charlestown Road, Lonaconing, died September 2, 2021 at Sterling Care, Frostburg. Born on September 18, 1941 in Detmold, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Charles William Poland and Sarah Marie (Coleman) Poland.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ivan Lee and Charles David Poland and one grandson, Shaen Smith.

Mary was a member of the Frist Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing and homemaker. She had worked a few jobs previously in housekeeping and the Flushing Shirt Factory, Grantsville. She loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Thomas Steele; two children, Ellen Marie Smith and husband Todd of Lonaconing and Charles Leroy Green and wife Connie of Midland; Tyler, Makhia and Derek Smith and Chaz, Lizzie and Amber Green; two sisters, Peggy Mae Garlitz of Frostburg and Harriett Darlene Smith of Barton and several nieces and nephews including a special niece June Hampe.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 5-7PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Harold Smith officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
