Mary Creegan

Mary Ann Creegan, 84, of Lonaconing died Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born on November 1, 1935 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late, Thomas Leo and Alfreda (Yantz) Powers.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Denise Creegan; granddaughter Heather Ann Creegan; sister Madonna Darber and brothers Michael Powers and Leo ‘Gene’ Powers.

She was retired from the Archdiocese of Maryland and went on to be the executive assistant to Father LaPorta at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Rectory, Lonaconing. She was also the original owner and operator of Fox’s Pizza in Lonaconing.  Ann was a kind and gentle soul who loved singing in the choir at Saint Mary’s Lonaconing and serving the Lord.

She is survived by three sons; Kevin Creegan and girlfriend Julie, Scott Creegan and girlfriend Christsandra and Steve Creegan and wife Pam, one daughter; Tammy Dixon and husband Jim.  She was lovingly known as Mom Mom to her nine grandchildren; Gracie, Kristin, Jason, Jennifer, Destiny and fiancé Tyler, Chris, Erica and husband Greg, Ashley and husband Mark and Travis and to her seventeen great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister; Sue Kesler and husband Michael.

Family and Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A., Lonaconing on Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 P.M., with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff at Egle Nursing and Rehab for the care and love they provided to Ann.  In saying that, in lieu of flowers, they would like memorial donations to be made to the Egle Nursing Activities Department.

Due to the restrictions of the Covid-19 virus, all attendees are asked to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
