Mary JoAnn Coleman

Mary JoAnn (Winters) Coleman, 86 of Friendship Court, Cresaptown, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on September 1, 1938 in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Winters and Mary (Hunt) Winters.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Gary Coleman and two children, Christopher, and Cathy Coleman. 

Mary JoAnn was a minister’s wife and helped serve in the ministry for Christ. She worked alongside her husband for many years. They traveled to the west and south, with most of their time in the ministry spent on Indian reservations. Mary loved the Lord and spreading his word, she thoroughly enjoyed her time working in the ministry. 

She also enjoyed many hobbies, most of her talent spent on sewing and gardening. She especially enjoyed her time as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who loved her. 

Mary JoAnn leaves behind her daughter, Cindy (Coleman) Fuente and husband Elden of Cresaptown. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Tressa Clark and husband Jason, Renae Foutz and husband Josh, Demei Oiterong and wife Morgan, Selau Weekes and friend Devin Wright and Althea Barbosa and husband Jesse. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Chase, Colton, Calan, Zachary, Kinson, Leilani, Braxton, Audora, Maeva and Seraya and one great-great-granddaughter, Aurora. 

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4-7 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 with Pastor Mickey Stephens officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Midland.

Pallbearers will be Mary JoAnn’s great-grandsons.
