Mary Jane Evans Clarke, 70 of Lonaconing, beloved wife, mother, nana, and sister went to heaven on Thursday, October 29, 2020, into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved husband, Tom. Mary Jane was loyal to God, her family and friends. Mary Jane was born on December 6, 1949, Lonaconing, Maryland, to the late Jane and Walter Evans. She was employed by Bechtel for 23 years. She and Tom made many wonderful friends throughout their travels. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lonaconing, was past president of United Methodist Women and past chair of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee. She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Jaye Clarke Hughes (husband Rick) and Janette Marie Clark. Her brother, Daniel Lee Evans of Alabama (wife Betty Jean). She is also survived by her grandson, Thomas Frederick Hughes who was the love of her life. She loved spending time with him whether at home or on one of their many travels. Her cousin Harry Shobe and wife Mary of Austin, Texas. Many special nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Tom’s sisters and brothers, Robert Clarke (Nellie), Betty Preston (Tom), Sue Martin (Gene), Jim Clarke (Gail) and Linda Brown (Bill). Mary Jane had many special friends from Bechtel and from high school that she frequently met with to and have lunch or to chat with on the phone. She especially enjoyed spending time with the “girls”. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Wayne Evans Sr. and wife (Mary Catherine Evans).
