Martha (Foye) Filsinger, 84, of Winchester Road, Cumberland died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on July 26, 1929 in Barton, MD she was the daughter of the late Leander Nile Foye and Jean (Main) Foye.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Filsinger on August 20, 2002 and one brother, Ellsworth Foye.
She was member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church. She was a 1947 graduate of Central High School. She started work for Celanese Fiber Corporation 1947 where she did clerical work in the insurance office. She was also a member of the Notables Organ Club and the Central Alumni Association.
She is survived by her siblings, Anna Jean Foye, Helen Agnes Foye and James Main Foye and wife Leota all of Frostburg; three nephews, James Main Foye, Jr., James E. McKenzie and Keith Filsinger and three nieces Jennie DeHaven, Debra Reuschel and Christa Friend.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Thursday, February 6, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Hal Atkins and Rev. Harold McClay officiating. Interment will be held at Eckhart Cemetery.
At request of the family donations may be made to the Cresaptown United Methodist Church at 14805 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD 21505.
