Margaret A. Meyers, formerly of Reisterstown, MD., died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Oak Crest Village retirement center, Baltimore County. Mrs. Meyers was the wife of F. de Sales Meyers, formerly of Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland, and Reisterstown, Maryland.
Mrs. Meyers was born April 23, 1935, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, to Wilford H. and Anna H. Stoner of Abingdon, Harford County, and was the mother of Katherine L. Brown of Lutherville, MD., and Paul D. Meyers of Westminster, MD. Grandchildren are Collin Meyers, Westminster, MD., and Chris and Stephen Brown of Lutherville, MD. A brother, William J. Stoner, resides in Hagerstown, MD. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Meyers was a graduate of a Catholic girls’ high school in Silver Spring, MD., and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. She was formerly employed as a secretary in the law firm of Whiteford, Hart, Carmody, and Wilson in Washington, D.C., and Office Manager for the Baltimore law firm of Cable, McDaniel, Bowie, and Bond. She was formerly Assistant to the Director of the Chesapeake Bay Institute of Johns Hopkins University and formerly Manager, Employees Relations, American Stone Mix, an industrial firm in Baltimore County.
For some years she was active in the Maryland Art League, having shown her art in many exhibitions as well as selling many of her works to private buyers.
Family and Friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, MD on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:00AM with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Avilton, Garrett County.
