Margaret Ann (Frizzell) (McGreevy), Metz 91, of Arvada, Colorado, formerly of Lonaconing and Frostburg, passed away on January 1, 2016.
Born on May 3, 1924 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Floyd N. And Margaret A. Frizzell. She graduated from Central High School, class of 1942. Margaret Ann worked at the Celanese following high school until she married and had children. Later, she worked for 15 years as a Kindergarten Teacher's Aide at South Penn Elementary In Cumberland.
Margaret Ann loved the outdoors with camping and hiking being her earlier favorites. She also enjoyed dancing, painting, golf and bowling. But it was her family that gave her the greatest joy and she will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffry Brian McGreevy, and her siblings, Eleanor Hanson, Julia Frizzell, Gustave Frizzell, Floyd Frizzell, Jr. and Dorothy Hannon.
Her survivors include her husband, Victor Metz of Arvada, CO; children, Marsha A. McKenzie and husband Richard of Grantsville; Joseph N. McGreevy and wife Anna of Front Royal, VA; Terry R. McGreevy and wife Dianne of Toms River, NJ and Cristine M. Fazenbaker and husband Randall of Winchester, VA; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson and her sister, Barbara J. Hunt and husband James of Winchester, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Frostburg Memorial Park at 2:00PM with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend a short service being held at the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing, one hour prior to the graveside service, at 1:00PM. There will be a memorial gathering held for family at a later date. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing handled the arrangements.
