Leah Ann Youngblood, 53, of Thomas Hill Road, Frostburg, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Doey’s House, Hagerstown, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 2, 1971 she was the daughter of Dennis Youngblood and Nellie Lease.
Leah was a 1989 graduate of Valley High School and a retired correctional officer from the state of Maryland, after 20 years of service. In her spare time, she really enjoyed traveling and crafting. She was a member and Past President of the Midland Ladies Auxiliary. Leah’s 13 yearslong battle with cancer was fought bravely and she will be remembered by so many who loved her for her strength and resilience through it all.
She leaves behind her father, Dennis Youngblood and wife Sandy of Bloomington and her mother, Nellie Lease of Flintstone; a son, Justin Youngblood; three grandchildren, Bentley Youngblood, Elijah Valentine and Jeremiah Hawkins; siblings, Nathan Youngblood and Jamie, Kenny Lease, Luretta Gomer and Gail Moon; a niece, Fiona Youngblood and many, many, beloved friends.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A memorial service follows at 1:00 PM with Pastor Shawn Shumaker officiating.
