Kenneth Michaels

Kenneth F. Michaels, 66, formerly of Gilmore, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2018 in Raleigh, NC after a 3 ½ year fight with cancer. He was born on January 29, 1952 in Frostburg to the late Percy R. and Josephine B. (Fair) Michaels. In addition to his parents, his wife Waneta and his brother Raymond preceded him. Kenny is survived by his daughters Heather Ott and husband James of Raleigh, NC and Shanna Moses and husband Dwayne of Alexandria, VA; six grandchildren Shawn, Brittany, Colin, Audry, James and Madison; his favorite niece Katherine Miller and sister-in-law Leota Michaels and many cousins and friends.

Kenny attended Valley High School in Lonaconing. After high school Kenny moved to Virginia where he became an underground lineman and a member of IBEW Local 50 at Dominion Power until his retirement in March 2007.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Midland. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home P.A. handled the arrangements.
