Kayla Parish

Kayla Renee (Michaels) Parish, 35, of Pekin, MD, died Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV. Born on August 29, 1987 in Cumberland she was the daughter of Terri Michaels of Pekin and Edwin Mercado of Jacksonville, FL.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leroy and Donna Lee Michaels.

Kayla was a 2005 graduate of Westmar High School and CCTE. She enjoyed reading books, watching movies and spending time with her children.

Together with her parents she is also survived by her husband, Rickey Parish Jr of Martinsburg, WV; two children, Korbyn Izeha Parish and Kyndall Leigh Parish; two sisters, Brooke Poyner of Eddison, NJ, Lissette Cooke of Monroe Township, NJ; three brothers, Joshua Mercado of Passaic, NJ, Nicholaus Mercado of Jacksonville, FL and Sgt. Christopher Mercado of Fort Campbell, KY and a paternal grandmother, Carmela “Grandma Luz” Torres of Perth Amboy, NJ.

A private graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills with Rev. Charles Winebrenner officiating. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing is handling the arrangements.
