Karen Riley

Karen Chrystle Riley, 72, of Paradise Street, Midland, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at her residence. Born on November 29, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John T. Wackerman Jr. and Chrystle M. (Kos) Wackerman.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Rae.

Karen was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Midland. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada as a home economics major. She had worked in the Country Club Mall, LaVale in sales at both Hickory Farms and Sears. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was also a 50 year plus member and Past Worthy Matron of  Martha Washington Chapter #10, Order of the Easter Star.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Riley; two children, Chrystle (Riley) McKenzie and husband Mark of Frostburg and Stephen Riley of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Samantha McKenzie currently teaching in South Korea and Kayla and Alyssa Riley both of Cresaptown; siblings, Gayle Rosenthal and husband Stan of Columbia, SC and John T. Wackerman III of Altoona and nieces and nephew, Katelyn Wackerman of Florida, Matt Riley of Munster, PA and Lori Smith of Bloomsburg, PA.
