June Wattenschaidt

June Elizabeth Wattenschaidt, 88, of Myrtle Beach, SC died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Grand Strand Health Care, where she had been a patient for many years. Born on February 21, 1924 in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late James Earl Merrbach and Marcelina (Sluss) Merrbach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wattenschaidt on January 7, 1991 and one sister, Mildred L. Moor.

June was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lonaconing where she had been an elder and a deacon and also taught Sunday school. She was a graduate of Central High School and a homemaker. She was also a member of the Sportmans Club of Cumberland.

She is survived by her children, Beverly A. Wambaugh of Murrells Inlet, SC and Robert John Wattenschaidt of Delaware, OH; three grandchildren, Chris Williams and wife Kristin of VA, Brian Wattenschaidt and wife Jennifer of GA and Doug Wattenschaidt and wife Emily of Las Vegas; one great-grandson, Alec Williams of VA and one sister, Julia Lee of Point Pleasant, WV.

Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhornmckenzie.com ), Lonaconing on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 11 AM - 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
