Joshua Thompson

Joshua Lee Thompson, 23, of Bedford Street, Cumberland died Friday, April 7, 2017. Born on February 3, 1994 in Cumberland he was the son of  Roxann (Green) Thompson of Cumberland and Paul Thompson and wife Taryn also of Cumberland.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Frederick Lee Thompson and his great-grandmother and best friend NanNan and Pap.

Josh was a 2012 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School, Frostburg. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand; mowing lawns and plowing snow.  He loved four-wheeling, fishing and hunting. He had many friends and touched many hearts. He will be remembered for his big heart and the greatest laugh in the world; his smile could light up a room.  His children were the loves of his life and the center of his world. Josh will be so missed.

Together with his parents he is also survived by his wife Dekota Wilson and their three children, Mason Levi, Kenzie Brielle and Lukas Fay Wilson; three sisters Cassie Wilson and husband Jon of Millsboro, DE, Kelsey Thompson and fiancé Zach Saylor of Cumberland and Freija Bryn Thompson of Cumberland; nephews Brodhi and River Wilson; Grandparents Vince and Sarah Jane Green of Gilmore and Dorothy Detrick of Cumberland; aunts and uncles Brenda Green Warnick , Vince and Shannon Green, Paulette and Danny Johnson and Ronda Ralston; two very special people in his life Lenny and Brandy and his beloved dogs, Buster aka Butter, Missy and Mya.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., 19814 Big Lane, Midland, MD 21532 on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 2-4PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4:00PM with Pastor Gene Riffey officiating. Following the service there will be a Wing and a Prayer Dove release. At the request of the family please come dressed in camouflage, no formal attire. Come the redneck way or no way.
