Joseph "Joe" Arthur Wilson, 59, of Railroad Street, Midland died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his residence. Born on June 7, 1952 in Lonaconing he was the son of George and Phyllis (Robertson) Wilson.
His loving wife, Kathleen Joan Wilson died Wednesday evening, after having shared their lives together for over 41 years.
Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of dedicated service to his country. He graduated from Valley High School and received his A.A. degree from Hawaii Pacific University. Being an avid golfer, Joe enjoyed his job at the Mill Creek Golf Course. He was especially fond of spending time with his grandsons, attending their sporting events and activities.
Along with his father and mother, George and Phyllis (Robertson) Wilson, Joe is also survived by his son, James "J.J" Joseph Wilson and his wife Malo of Gilmore; three grandsons, Jay, Jarred and Justin; three sisters, Melanie Wilson, Georgia Duckworth and Cathy Fazenbaker; one brother, Paul Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend Russell Blubaugh and wife Beverley.
Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing (www.eichhornmckenzie.com) on Monday, November 7, 2011 from 6-8PM and Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at God's Ark of Safety, Frostburg on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Everett J. Spence officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills, MD.
