James “Jimmy” William Reno, 46, of Midland, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore after suffering through several illnesses and health issues since he was a child. Born on March 5, 1977 in Cumberland he was the son of Barbara Jean (Robertson) Reno and the late Charles Edward Reno.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Reno, two uncles, Eddie Roberston and Jim Reno, two aunts, Elva Bear and Norma Jean Billings and a niece, Elizabeth “Lizzie Bug”.
Jimmy was a graduate of Vo-Tech and Westmar High School class of 1995. He was an EMT and a loyal 18-year member of the Midland Fire Company, where he served as Safety Officer, Trustee and Past President. He also bartended at the Midland Firehall. He was currently employed by Weis where he worked as an assistant produce manager.
He trained many youths with Mini Miners Football, and served as their EMT. He enjoyed coaching and assisting with t-ball in Midland. As an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, he said his happy place was Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Jean (Robertson) Reno; siblings, Jamie Saville and husband Joe of Keyser, WV, Charles Reno and wife Luvelle of Kentucky, Melissa Guthrie of Westernport, Melinda Courtney and husband Dennis of Short Gap, WV, and Patty Doman and husband Chris of Purgitsville, WV ; nieces and nephews, Joe, Brian, Jessica, Alyssa, Christopher, Jennifer and Destiney; uncle, Billy Robertson and wife Irma; aunts, Mary Carle, Dorothy Whetzel and Rita Robertson and many beloved friends.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 5-8 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland. A memorial service will be held by the Midland Fire Company. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Kristi Williams officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
Pallbearers will be members of the Midland Fire Company.
