James Whittemore

James Herbert Whittemore, 76, of Lonaconing died Tuesday, November 13, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born on October 22, 1942 in Baltimore he was the son of the late Clifton Whittemore and Jessie (Lippencott) Whittemore.

He was preceded in death by four siblings Jerry Doyle, Grace Corcoran, Chris Whittemore and Charles Whittemore.

James was catholic by faith. He worked in the GMC Truck garage in Glen Burnie as custodian from 1980-1989 before moving to Frostburg and then to Lonaconing.  He was friendly to all and would do anything for anyone. He was known for his wit.

He is survived by his sister Joan Wheeler of Frostburg; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
