James Warnick, Sr.

James Edward Warnick, Sr., 66, of Upper Rockville Street, Lonaconing died, Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his residence after a courageous 9 1/2 year battle with cancer.  Born on March 10, 1947 he was the son of the late John Warnick and Norma (Dohm) Warnick.

He was a 1965 graduate of Valley High School and retired from New Page where he was a journeyman in the lubrication department.  He loved his antique car collection and enjoyed spending time in his garage restoring the classic cars. He was a member of Georges Creek Valley Masonic Lodge #161 AF & AM, Dan's Mountain Park Volunteer Team, Barton Legion Coffee Club, Monday Subway Club and the George's Creek Cruisers Car Club.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Jeanne Kay (Nicol) Warnick; a son, James Edward Warnick, Jr. and wife Colette; a grandson, James "Jay" Edward Warnick, III ;his sister, LeeAnn Durst and husband Wayne of Detmold; Mother-in-law, Ruth Nicol; Brothers-in-law, Greg and Nikki Nicol, Gary and Brenda Nicol and Scot Nicol. Also survived by his special garage buddy , Caden Shockey.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A memorial service will be held by Georges Creek Valley Masonic Lodge #161 AF & AM at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Run Cemetery, Moscow Mills.

At the request of the family memorial donations may be made in memory of James to the Schwab Family Cancer Center at 12500 Willowbrook Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.

A very special thank you to the Dr. Tom Devlin, Dr. Blanche Mavromatis and Dr. Michael Craig for the care and attention they gave to him over the years.

Pallbearers will be Dick Connor, Billy Devlin, Gary Hadley, Joe Inskeep, Sam Hartman and Bobby Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Shearer, Ray Tighe, Dale Folk and Wayne Durst.
