James Donald

James "Sunset" Harrison Donald, 79, of Park Street, Lonaconing died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, Lonaconing. Born February 26, 1931 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late William Harrison Donald and Mary Estella ( Dawson ) Donald.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, preceded in death by six sisters, Sarah, Helen, Cora, Ester, Mildred and Marcella and his mother-in-law, Rosalie Marie Williamson.

A lifelong resident of Coney, Sunset grew up in Charlestown . A proud veteran of the U.S. Army he served in the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver by occupation and a very hard worker. Sunset loved Christmas, he enjoyed the lights and decorating the tree with the train set up underneath. He was a talker who never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife Carol Donald; two children, Scott Clinton Broadwater and girlfriend Becki Beeman and Jeri Ann Thrasher and husband Todd; one grandchild, Jason David Thrasher; father-in-law, Harry Williamson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhornmckenzie.com ),Lonaconing on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 7-9 PM . A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Maxwell Greenfield officiating. Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery , Moscow Mills.
