Herbert Crawford

Herbert Franklin Crawford, 84, of Wright Street, Frostburg died Monday, February 4, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Born on August 14, 1934 in Lonaconing he was the son of the late Joseph Crawford and Myrtle (Fazenbaker) Crawford.

He was preceded in death by his son Steven Crawford in 2001 and his beloved wife Betty Crawford in 2016. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Joseph and Richard Crawford and two sisters Susan Crawford and Carol Blubaugh.

Herbert was a 1952 graduate of Valley High School. He continued his education at the University of Maryland where he earned in Masters in Education. Herb was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Career Center in 1998, after teaching Auto Body for many years.

He is survived by three children, Herbert William Crawford and Susan Michael of Frostburg, Deborah Ann Likens and fiancé Charles White of Warfordsburg, PA and Stephanie Marie Cessna and husband Ethan of Bedford, PA; six grandchildren Natasha, Michael, Stephen, Hunter, Logan and Austin; five great-grandchildren, Shane, Harley, Devon, Danielle and Talon; four brothers Ronnie, Ellsworth “Jake”, Bob and John Crawford; two sisters Bonnie Morton and Mary Beeman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00AM with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
