Helen Johnson

October 20, 1936 — September 15, 2010

Helen Louise Johnson, 73, of Lower Georges Creek Road, Gilmore went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at her residence with family by her side. Born October 20, 1936 in Manns Choice, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Clifford L. Summers and Helen Pauline (Fisher) Summers Morton.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Johnson and two brothers, Jim and Jack Summers.
She was member of the Midland Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed embroidery and loved her family very much. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During her many years of struggling with MS she still enjoyed life to its fullest. She centered her life around her family and friends with her unconditional love. She will greatly be missed by all. We love you "Wheezie"!
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Johnson; two daughters, Sandra Raines and husband Ronnie of Midland and Cindy Broadwater and husband Randy also of Midland; one son, Stan Johnson and wife Monica of Gilmore; seven grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Angie, Curtis, Kayla, Brooke and Ronnie Jr.; nine great-grandchildren, Luci, Grace, Emma, Kelli, Bryce, Sydney, Rylee, Gavin and Braedin; one sister, Maxine Whetstone of Mann Choice, PA; two brothers, Paul Summers of Bedford Heights, OH and Richard Summers of Euclid, OH; a life long special friend, Patty Morton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home P.A. ( www.eichhornmckenzie.com ), Midland on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Harry Burchell officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
At the family's request memorial contributions may be made to WMHS Hospice at Attn: Linda Green, 1050 West Industrial Blvd., Suite 19, Cumberland, MD 21502 or Midland Grace United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 15, Midland, MD 21542.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all who prayed for and administered loving care to Helen especially the girls with WMHS Home Hospice.
