Helen Crowe

Helen Frances Crowe, 88, formerly of Sunlight Drive, Lonaconing died Monday, April 29, 2019 at Frostburg Nursing and Rehab. Born on December 14, 1930 in Midland she was the daughter of the late Leonard Dye and Helen (Smith) Dye.

She was preceded in death by her husband William E. Crowe on May 1, 1985, two sisters Leona Houdersheldt and Catherine Davis and an infant brother Leonard Dye. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Helen was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland.  A graduate of Central High School, she retired from the Best Western, LaVale after many years of service in housekeeping.  She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two children William Crowe and wife Cathy of Lonaconing and Diane Wellings of Midland; three grandchildren Cassie Shugars and husband Mike, Brittany Wellings and Matthew Wellings; five great-grandchildren Chloe, Taylor and Katie and Ethan and Koda and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Grace United Methodist Church, Midland. Interment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg.
