George "Flaps" Theodore Wilson Sr., 86, of Beans Cove Road, Clearville, PA died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his residence. Born on September 17, 1926 in Detmold he was the son of the late George Washington Wilson and Pearl Leona (Starkey) Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his son, George T. Wilson, Jr. on December 3, 2000 and his second wife, Dorothy Wilson on February 26, 2004.
George was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He was a member of the Barton American Legion Post #189. He retired from Allegany College of Maryland where he worked in security and environmental services. He had previously worked in construction.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharlene McFarland and husband Mike of Cumberland and Barbara Jo Wilson and husband James Shaffer of Woodbridge, VA and their mother, Shirley Mae Green Wilson; five step-children, Smoke and Sam Dudley of Frostburg, Debbie and Gary McKenzie of Salisbury, PA, Ric and Barb Naill of Spring Valley, OH, Steve and Debra Naill of Martinsburg, WV and Bill and Gloria Naill of Chaneyville, PA; eleven grandchildren, Tracy Wilson Danesi and husband Joe of Ohio, Jason Wilson of Cumberland, Ted Wilson of Cumberland, John McFarland and wife Alice of Cumberland, Megan McFarland of Silver Spring, Jay Dudley and wife Erin of Cumberland, Brandi Dudley and Al of Frostburg, Heidi McKenzie and Cameron of Linden, VA, Roby Naill and wife Leatha of Spring Valley, OH, Jody Naill of Tennessee and Jesse Naill of PA ; seventeen great-grandchildren, Abraham, John, Alicia, Gabriel, Matt, Christopher, Josiah and Grace McFarland, Elizabeth Wilson, Rianna, JR and Henry Danesi, Samantha and Haley Kitis and Austin, Tobyn and Camdyn Dudley; two brothers, Allan Wilson of Cresaptown and James Wilson of Sanford, NC; one daughter-in-law, Beatrice Wilson of Cumberland; numerous nieces and nephews; his companion, Bessie "Liz" Warnick of Lonaconing and his beloved dogs, Rambo and Sam.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 7- 9 PM and Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 2- 4 PM and 7- 9 PM at Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Midland (www.eichhornmckenzie.com). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Morgan officiating. Interment will be held at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone. Military rites will be accorded by the combined Honor Guard Post #13.
