Frederick “Tod” Leonard Brashear, 90, of Klondike, formerly of Westernport, died on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born on May 2, 1923, in Westernport, he was the son of the late Orvey Brashear and Lula A. (Miller) Brashear. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Adeline Patti (Miller) Brashear in 1979; four brothers, Allen Brashear, Roy C. Brashear, Dewey Brashear and James E. Brashear and two sisters, Ethel A. (Brashear) Jenkins and Dorothy (Brashear) McKenzie. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II from 1943-1946 and a member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg. He was employed at the Celanese for 42 years.
He loved his family and all of God’s creatures. He was an easy going man, his favorite color was red and he read the bible everyday.
He is survived by his four children, David Wayne Brashear and wife Kathryn Ann (Hollern), of Klondike, Barbara Ann (Brashear) Rembold and husband Lee Edward, of Keyser, Raymond Leonard Brashear, of Klondike and Brenda Jean (Brashear) Dugan and husband Robert Lee, of Frostburg; one granddaughter, Hope Marie (Brashear) Kasecamp and husband Erick and one great-grandson, Trystan James Preston.
Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Midland, on Sunday, June 23, 2013, from 6 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, June 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.
Interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
Military rites will be accorded by Farrady Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg
